Crush Your Goals by Reviewing Them Daily
The daily habit that keeps your goals from getting lost
You start the year with a clear set of goals. Then the real world hits:
→ Back-to-back meetings
→ Time out in the field
→ Fire drills
A calendar that doesn’t leave time to think, let alone strategize. Before long, those carefully crafted goals start collecting dust, while your time gets filled reacting to everyone else’s priorities.
Sound familiar?
It’s one of the biggest challenges Medical Affairs professionals face:
→ Staying focused on your own goals in a role built around other people’s needs.
But there’s a simple, powerful fix: review your goals daily. Just a few minutes each morning can shift your entire day. You’ll make better decisions, prioritize more strategically, and stay connected to what matters most.
Why Review Goals Daily?
Daily review doesn’t mean rewriting your plan every morning. It means re-centering yourself on what matters, so you can make progress even when your day goes sideways.
Here’s what it helps with:
-
Clarity: You know exactly what to prioritize (even when things get busy).
-
Momentum: You stay motivated by seeing progress, not just problems.
-
Impact: You stay aligned with your strategic value, not just your calendar.
Here are 3 dead simple tips to make daily goal review a habit.
Crush Your Goals Tips 1: Review Your Goals Before Planning
Before you plan out your day, spend a few minutes reviewing your goals. This will put your goals top of mind. Then schedule time each day to work on them. Get into the mindset of “when will I work on my goals today?” Then get it on your calendar. Thinking on the weekly level and planning this out in your weekly reset also works great! Even better: roll these up to your monthly goals.
People that actually schedule time for their priorities are more likely to work on them. Learn more about aligning your calendar to strategic priorities in this article.

Crush Your Goals Tip 2: Create Vibes
This is my favorite tip! When you review your goals for the day, create a fun environment. Sit outside on your back patio. Find a quiet spot and time. Light a candle. Do something to make your daily goal-reviewing atmosphere fun and inviting.
Every morning before I start reviewing my goals and planning my day, I get a huge delicious cup of coffee and turn on my favorite music. It creates an atmosphere that I love and makes me look forward to reviewing my goals.

Crush Your Goals Tip 3: Reflect on the Progress You are Making Towards Goals
At the end of the day, reflect on what progress you made towards accomplishing your goals. This is also a great way to demonstrate your value. For example, if you are an MSL with a goal of meeting 20 KOLs per month, write down the progress you made toward meeting that goal.
When you see that you are making progress towards goals this will motivate you to work on them more. Plus this goal reflection exercise helps keep your goals top of mind. Then you are more likely to schedule time to work on them. It’s a virtuous circle of goal-crushing 🙂.

Final Thoughts: Your Goals Deserve More Than Just a January Check-In
It’s easy to get swept up in the urgent and forget about the important. But your goals aren’t just a box to check at the start of the year. They reflect what you want to accomplish and who you want to become.
Reviewing them daily is how you stay connected to that vision. It’s how you stop drifting and start driving your day with intention.
You don’t need a complicated system. Just a few minutes of daily review, a progress tracker, and a clear plan can help you stay focused, motivated, and strategic. No matter how chaotic things get.
Start today.
You might be surprised how much progress you’re already making once you start paying attention.
What keeps you on top of your goals? Please share!
