Stay on Top of Everything with a Weekly Reset

Hey Medical Affairs friends, do you constantly feel overwhelmed and things keep falling through the cracks? Or maybe you spend most of your time doing busy work and don’t do any high-priority/needle-moving work?

I have an amazing hack for you: Stay on top of everything with a weekly reset.

Minimize Feeling Overwhelmed and Stay on Top of Everything with a Weekly Reset

This is a practice that I started implementing when I was completely overwhelmed by everything going on in my life and felt like I was failing. Keep reading for a simple 3-step weekly reset process that you can implement immediately to take control of your life.

What is a Weekly Reset?

A weekly reset is a powerful way to review what you accomplished the prior week and then plan for what you will accomplish the following week. Here are some of the benefits:

✨Sets you up for success

✨Aligns your time with your goals

✨Helps you make sure the important things get done

✨It’s a great way to wrap up the prior week and prepares you for a productive week

✨Decreases stress

Think of it as a way for you to pause and assess if you are focusing on what’s important.

Stay on Top of Everything by Developing Your Own Weekly Reset in 3 Simple Steps

1. Review and reflect on last week

2. Brain dump everything you need to do

3. Prioritize and plan for next week

By following these steps and developing a process that works well for you, you will focus your efforts on being productive and focusing on what matters. This has been life-changing for me. After doing this for several months, I noticed that I rely on my weekly reset for guidance.

Conclusions

If you just show up each week and attend the meetings on your calendar you are not being strategic and are likely following someone else’s priorities. It’s a recipe for feeling overwhelmed and not staying on top of everything.

Are you good at the planning and resetting process but not so good at the prioritization? Check out this article on aligning your calendar to strategic priorities
